A complex system is not a system with a lot of code. It is a system that lives under constraints: core systems that must not be touched, regulation that dictates the process, many concurrent users, and several components — site, API and background services — that have to work together.
This is the kind of project we specialise in. Not because it is comfortable, but because this is where the difference between a software vendor and a technology partner is largest.

What makes a software system complex?
Not the size of the code — the constraints: integration with core systems that cannot be replaced, regulation that dictates the process, many concurrent users, and multiple components that must work together. A system with two or three of these behaves differently from any ordinary project.
Can a new system be built without taking the existing one down?
Yes — and it is the only way we work. The new system comes up alongside the existing one, connected to it, and passes testing in a separate environment before it takes real traffic.
How do you know the system will hold up under real load?
By testing in an environment with data at real scale — not by guessing. A system we run in production serves 1,500 bankers at once.
