The challenge

A customer who wants to talk to their own banker is left with email, the telephone or a trip to the branch — none of them identified, none of them recorded, and none of them able to finish a process. The bank needed one identified channel in which a binding action could also be completed.

What we built

A messaging system between the banker and the customer, wired into the bank's various systems: from within the same conversation, actions can be carried out and documents produced, including binding processes such as approving a loan with a digital signature.

What it delivered

The system is in production and in use at the FIBI Group, serving 1,500 bankers and a great many customers at the same time.

The messaging system

What was hard here

The difficulty was never the messaging itself but what hangs off it: a system living inside a bank has to authenticate against the systems already there, work at the scale of fifteen hundred bankers at once, and leave a trace of every action. That is also what makes it a system that keeps working for years rather than a project that was handed over and forgotten.
