Hoshen
A screen at the synagogue entrance that shows the right time without anyone updating it — instead of a printed sheet that goes stale.

Prayer times shift with the seasons, a class is cancelled, and somebody has to remember to print again. Until they remember, the board hanging at the entrance shows times and announcements that are no longer valid.
Hoshen replaces it with a screen that maintains itself: the day's times are computed every day for the synagogue's exact location, and the announcements and memorials come in from the admin and rotate on a cycle.
What is shown on the screen
Prayer times, for weekdays and for Shabbat
The synagogue's full schedule — Shacharit, Mincha, Arvit, additional minyanim and classes — with a separation between weekdays, Shabbat and festivals.

The halachic day times, by location
Dawn, tallit and tefillin, sunrise, the latest times for Shema and for prayer by the different opinions, midday, mincha gedola and ketana, plag, sunset, nightfall and Rabbeinu Tam — computed by our times library for the location and the elevation of the synagogue itself.
Announcements and memorials
The gabbai's announcements rotate on a cycle without hiding the times, and memorials are shown on a dedicated line with the name of the deceased and the date of passing.
What changes by itself
The Hebrew date, the weekly Torah portion, the daily page, and the seasonal prayer insertions in their season — all derived from the calendar and updated on the exact day.
